The Aces wrapped up the best-of-five finals series with a 3-1 victory, marking the first instance of a team achieving consecutive championships since the Los Angeles Sparks in 2001 and 2002.

Despite trailing by as many as 12 points, the Aces executed a remarkable comeback in the second half, seizing control by the end of the third quarter. Their relentless effort was evident as they notched six consecutive points, establishing a 70-64 lead. The Liberty attempted a final push, but the Aces, missing starters Chelsea Gray and Kiah Stokes due to foot injuries, stood firm to secure the title.

Alysha Clark, stepping into the starting lineup, contributed 10 points and eight rebounds, earning the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year recognition. Jackie Young displayed prowess with 16 points and seven assists, while Cayla George, filling in for Stokes, made significant contributions with 11 points, including three crucial three-pointers.

“We’ve been facing adversity all season, playing without different players… We have some professional fighters,” said Alysha Clark, highlighting the team’s resilience and chemistry.

In a closely contested battle, the Liberty’s Courtney Vandersloot attempted a game-winning jumper at the buzzer, but Las Vegas held on for the victory. Despite challenges and injuries, the Aces showcased their determination, exemplified by Wilson’s pivotal mid-range shot that secured a 70-64 lead with 1:27 left.

Vandersloot led the Liberty’s charge with 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. However, the Aces’ collective effort, backed by Wilson’s exceptional performance, ultimately secured their historic back-to-back WNBA titles.
